Magnetic shielding:
We provide passive shielding in case the 0.5 gauss line of the magnetic field of the MRI system surpasses the MR exam room. This is generally not acceptable as it can have negative impact on persons with metal implants, pacemaker; and moreover also disturbs the functioning of other electrical equipment such as for example monitors, ultrasound systems. Next to this the MR functioning (image quality) may be influenced by moving (heavy) metal objects, such as elevators, cars.
In this case low carbon / silicon steel plates are incorporated into the walls, ceiling, and/or floor of the magnet room to keep the 0.5 gauss line inside the MR room.
